Crédit Agricole launches Crédit Agricole Deutschland
Crédit Agricole is launching Crédit Agricole Deutschland, its new digital bank for retail customers in Germany. Available from the end of October 2026, it combines a digital-first approach with accessible human support and the expertise of a leading European banking group.
Crédit Agricole is continuing its development in Germany with the launch of Crédit Agricole Deutschland, a new universal bank designed with a digital-first approach for retail customers. Available from the end of October 2026, it will offer savings solutions alongside everyday banking services from launch.
Building on more than 70 years of presence in Germany through its different business lines, Crédit Agricole already serves one million customers in the country. Crédit Agricole Deutschland will build on this established local presence and its understanding of the market to offer a fully digital customer journey enhanced with artificial intelligence, while ensuring access to human support.
Ahead of the launch, customers can already discover Crédit Agricole Deutschland and join the waitlist at www.credit-agricole.de.
A comprehensive offer for everyday banking needs
From launch, Crédit Agricole Deutschland will offer retail customers in Germany an initial range of banking products and services, combining everyday banking with savings solutions:
· a current account with a German IBAN;
· a Visa card providing access to 49,000 ATMs in Germany and Visa ATMs worldwide*;
· savings solutions, including Tagesgeld and Festgeld deposits;
· a mobile app for onboarding, account management and product subscription;
· access to customer support by phone from Monday to Saturday, 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., as well as by email and live chat.
Account opening and product subscriptions will be carried out directly through the mobile application, providing customers with a seamless, intuitive and largely self-directed experience.
An offer set to expand from 2027
Crédit Agricole Deutschland will progressively expand its offering to address more of its customers’ financial needs and evolve the experience in response to customer needs and feedback.
From 2027, the bank plans to add wealth-building solutions, credit products, enhanced advisory services and premium packages.
The digital experience will also continue to evolve with additional self-service features and support for mobile wallets such as Apple Pay and Google Pay. Artificial intelligence will be progressively deployed to streamline customer journeys, enhance service efficiency and, over time, deliver increasingly personalised support.
Over time, German customers will gain access to a broader range of Crédit Agricole Group solutions, particularly in savings, personal financing and insurance, with the ambition of making Crédit Agricole Deutschland their primary bank.
“German customers expect banking to be straightforward, transparent and secure, without having to choose between digital convenience and reliable human support,” says Amir Djourabtchi, CEO of Crédit Agricole Deutschland.
“Think Big for Your Money”: a digital bank backed by the strength of a leading banking group
Under the promise “Think Big for Your Money”, Crédit Agricole Deutschland aims to bring together the best of both worlds: the simplicity, agility and user experience expected from a next-generation digital bank, combined with accessible human support whenever customers need it. This model is backed by the financial strength, specialist capabilities and innovation power of Crédit Agricole, one of Europe’s leading banking groups.
While its model is digital-first, Crédit Agricole Deutschland will also benefit from a physical presence through 20 branches across Germany’s main cities, building on Creditplus’ existing network.
From day one, locations in Berlin, Stuttgart, Frankfurt and Munich will welcome visitors in dedicated spaces designed to showcase the bank’s offering and digital services. The remaining branches will serve as information and guidance hubs, while account opening and product subscriptions will be carried out directly through the mobile application.
Germany at the heart of Crédit Agricole’s European ambitions
The launch of Crédit Agricole Deutschland marks a new milestone in the ACT 2028 medium-term plan, which aims to accelerate the Group’s growth, expand its reach in Europe and deploy its universal banking model in markets where it already has strong foundations.
As Europe’s largest economy and one of the continent’s largest savings markets, Germany is a priority market for the Group. Present in the country for more than 70 years through a broad range of activities serving retail, corporate and institutional customers, Crédit Agricole now aims to strengthen synergies between its businesses and progressively broaden its offering.
Following the launch of Crédit Agricole Savings in April 2026, Crédit Agricole Deutschland completes this ecosystem by adding everyday banking services. Building on an existing base of around one million retail customers in Germany, the Group aims to double its customer base across its German businesses to two million by the end of 2028.
Olivier Gavalda, CEO of Crédit Agricole S.A.: “Germany is at the heart of our European ambition. Building on more than 70 years of presence in the country, we are entering a new chapter by deploying our universal banking model in Europe’s largest economy.”
